Home Insurance is actually one of the most expensive things in your budget. Insurance period is quite expensive but also quite necessary. You do not want to be out of protection when you have something horrible happen to your home. You want to be covered in case the walls fall down, a fire happens or something else. Went to my Grandmothers
Bless my grandmother. Even though she is extremely old, which many grandmothers are, she is still rather active. She still works in a psych ward as a nurse and even helps out here neighbors when she is able to. This includes when her neighbor needed help putting down some garage flooring. This is the type of stuff that prevents you from falling over. It is plastic but helps you keep a grip to something about the floor so you don’t slip and fall on water. She helped him lay it down and it looked great!
Exit Signs
Exit signs are something that you may never think about. However, while I was sitting in the church the other day, I got to thinking, how many of these are actually necessary? Don’t people know that the door they came in is an exit too? Well, then I was told that these are in case of emergency and people need to know the nearest exit. I said, well then that makes sense why we have so many of these exit signs around!
Brand New Car on the Driveway
I ended up purchasing a brand new car the last week. It is a 2004 Honda Civic VP. This means that it is a value package. Otherwise, it does not have power doors or power locks. It also does not have ABS brakes which leads to some safety concerns. However, I decided to buy it. I also got some nice auto accessories for it. I purchased some kick butt mud flaps and also some nice interior rugs. The ones that the dealership was going to give me were backstocked til July. Why would I need winter mats in July? LOL!
Was Black Friday Better or Worse
This year, Black Friday did not seem to work out as well for me. I did not get quite as many things as I wanted, but ended up finding the rest of my buys online. While this was not all bad, it was not all good either. It meant that I had to spend a lot of extra time/money/gas to find my gifts. Quite annoying in this extra economy. Buy.com and a few other sites did help me out though with their free shipping as long as you ordered early enough. One site even reshipped the day before x-mas eve when my package had not arrived!
Toronto Hotels Are the BOMB!
Toronto is one of the coolest cities on the planet. I was up there earlier this past summer and had some awesome experiences. Whether they were good or bad as far as learning is another story. However, the one awesome thing I found out is that Toronto hotels are the bomb! They are large, ample, and easy to find. Mine was a Hilton and was super delux nice! You couldn’t find a nicer place in Toronto and the rates were not through the roof. Kinda nice for a poor guy like me.
Car parts that work
I have had a car that has been around for nearly two decades. Sure, it is not the best car on the block, but that does not mean that I do not expect it to work. I want only the best parts put into it, and I spend a great deal of money trying to keep it up. It has had several Mopar parts put into it this year, and the hood replaced. This is not cheap, and I will continue to keep it up for as long as possible.

BRRRH! It’s cold here!
For those people that do not know it, I live in Michigan. It is extremely cold this time of year. We have had just under 12 inches of snow so far this season and temperatures have been in the single digits already. This is way too early for this to be happening. Regardless, it still feels like someone turned the AC filters onto the lowest that they would go. Luckily, we are getting a warmup this week at least for a little bit.
Military life with homes
Having a life in the military can be very stressful. Not only are you subject to being put on deployment but you have to worry about your home. You can literally be picked up and sent away with not much notice. You may have to get used to cross country moving depending upon where you are needed. Luckily, the military helps you out with the costs and even provides some services for free, which is truly nice of them. I have been in Charleston, SC, Omaha, NB, Chicago, IL and Detroit, MI.
