How to build a blog network

I am still working on getting that travel blog together but the EWF Media group is expanding!  We currently have Ryan444123.com, Krispy Blogs, Ryan’s Reviews, Ryan Pics, and Ryan at home in our network.

But you might of asked how this whole idea of a blog network first came to frution. Well, originally, Krispy Blogs was a blog network that was going to be operated by someone I knew, but I took on the project after they did not want it.  I added a few blogs to the site using WordPress Multiuser, which after a server move sadly became screwed up beyond repair.  Then I said, I’ll just create individual WordPress blogs on sub domains with fantastico.  However, I did do that and some of them still exist(see if you can find them. ;) ).  After a while, I became busy and abandoned the idea of doing that.

Then a couple of months ago I got some more free time and though, “Why can’t I be like Gawker Media?”  So I decided to start buying domains and getting blogs up on them.  It has gone much faster and better than expected!  We have a handful of blogs that are all managed by me, with one exception of Breezie helping out on Ryan at home.  I am looking for more great blog ideas, so please, if you do have one send it to me, you might get some cash for it.

This is part 1 of a series on how to build a blog network.  Subscribe to my RSS to get future editions.
